CASE STUDY

PROJECT:
Construction
Inclusion
Week

Organized by 6 of the nation's leading construction management firms (Gilbane Building Company, DPR Construction, Mortenson, McCarthy Building Company, Turner Construction, and Clark Construction) and first launched in 2021, Construction Inclusion Week is a week-long awareness campaign developed to promote, educate, and bring awareness to issues related to inclusion within the construction industry. This includes robust trainings, curriculums, video content, and a bevy of other resources to encourage construction firms to focus on enhancing inclusion practices within their companies and on their projects.
Situation
Our partnership with the Construction Inclusion Week (CIW) initiative has been in place since its launch in 2021.
In the years leading up to 2025, our scope focused on establishing and growing the campaign's footprint. Our work included:
- Developing and launching the foundational brand identity, website, and social media presence.
- Creating the initial set of curriculum, educational guides, and tools.
- Expanding services to include an industry-specific DEI Assessment, video production, and the launch of the campaign's e-commerce platform.
For the latest campaign year, the initiative faced a significant new challenge: The national focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) underwent extensive scrutiny and faced limitations due to current political and governmental restrictions.
To ensure the campaign’s continued efficacy, relevance, and compliance, CIW executed a major strategic pivot, shifting its public emphasis to focus on Workforce Development and outreach—while fundamentally preserving the core mission of inclusion. This strategic change necessitated a complete overhaul of the campaign's public-facing materials and structure compared to previous years. We were tasked with leading the intensive re-alignment, which required significant updates to:

- The overall CIW branding.
- The redesign of the CIW website.
- The entire suite of educational tools and curriculum.
Solution
Strategic Re-Alignment & Full-Service Execution
Our role was to ensure a seamless and effective transition to the new Workforce Development focus while maintaining brand integrity and providing full operational support. We managed the strategic re-alignment and provided end-to-end management for the entire campaign.
