Builders of Hope

The Porches at Valwood Park

Builders of Hope Community Development Corporation is a long-standing community development organization dedicated to expanding access to quality, attainable housing across North Texas. Through neighborhood revitalization, stabilization, and mixed-income development, the organization has delivered more than 500 homes and generated lasting economic impact in historically underserved communities.


The Porches at Valwood Park marked Builders of Hope’s first development in northern Dallas County and represented a significant milestone in its continued expansion.

Situation

Builders of Hope CDC prepared to break ground on The Porches at Valwood Park, a workforce and attainable housing development designed to support community stability without displacement.


As a first project in a new geographic market, the groundbreaking needed to:

  • Establish credibility with municipal leadership and partners
  • Communicate the project’s purpose and long-term value
  • Engage residents, funders, and stakeholders
  • Generate positive media visibility


The event served as both a ceremonial milestone and a strategic introduction of the project to the broader community.

Our Approach

PRAXIS led the planning and execution of the groundbreaking ceremony under an accelerated timeline, serving as strategic advisor and event manager.

Stakeholder Coordination

Partnered with the City of Farmers Branch and project stakeholders to ensure alignment, permitting, and participation.



Partner Engagement

Integrated financial and design partners, including Simmons Bank and JUXTA, into the program to reinforce project credibility and vision.


Event Strategy & Management

Designed the run-of-show, guest experience, and site layout for approximately 90 attendees, including interactive elements such as the #PorchVibes activation.


Budget & Resource Management

Allocated resources to maximize visibility, engagement, and production quality while maintaining fiscal discipline.


Art Direction & Media Relations

Oversaw event aesthetics, developed press materials, and led outreach to secure local media coverage.


The engagement focused on translating project values into a cohesive, high-impact public moment.
